"SAGE," directed by Skylar Piela, is a narrative drama about a nineteen-year-old transgirl who grapples with revenge, validation and introspection after moving to a new city. This story provides an important viewpoint on the life of a trans woman, and demonstrates the bravery they must have to face the world.

Skylar wanted a visual style that approaches the drama authentically, however she also wanted a bold look to compliment the main character, sage. This led to production design and cinematography that created a realistic, yet striking world. In order to achieve this look I utilized soft key sources, ultrawide lenses, vibrant colors, and unique locations.
