"SAGE," directed by Skylar Piela, is a narrative drama about a nineteen-year-old trans girl who grapples with revenge, validation, and introspection after moving to a new city.​

​Skylar wanted a visual style that authentically conveyed the drama; however, she also wanted a bold look to complement the main character, Sage. This led to production design and cinematography that created a realistic, yet striking world. To achieve this look, I utilized soft key sources, ultrawide lenses, vibrant colors, and unique locations.
