"SAGE," directed by Skylar Piela, is a narrative drama about a nineteen-year-old transgirl who grapples with revenge, validation, and introspection after moving to a new city. This story provides an important viewpoint on the life of a trans woman and demonstrates the bravery they must have to face the world.

Skylar wanted a visual style that approached the drama authentically, however, she also wanted a bold look to compliment the main character, Sage. This led to production design and cinematography that created a realistic, yet striking world. To achieve this look I utilized soft key sources, ultrawide lenses, vibrant colors, and unique locations.
